Which fruits to choose to make an arranged rum?

You can choose any kind of fruit to make rum: seasonal fruits (winter, summer) tropical, European, organic fruits, it all depends on your taste and your desires. For my part, I prefer them when ripe for more taste and less sugar to add.

  • Tropical fruits: lychee, mango, pineapple,…
  • Stone fruits: plum, peach, apricot, cherry, etc.
  • Pome fruits: pear, grapes, apples, etc.
  • Citrus fruits: lemon, orange, kumquat,…
  • Dried fruits: raisins, peanuts, pistachios, etc.

For your first production of arranged rum, use pineapple or mango because these are fruits that are found in all seasons and release their flavor quickly in the alcohol. Their maceration time is only a few days.

-Wash your chosen fruit, peel it, keep the flesh and cut it into slices by its length (like vegetable juliennes) or mix them for a few seconds.

-Put half of the fruit in a large glass container, add 1 liter of white rum, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, a cinnamon stick and a vanilla pod.

-Mix, close the glass container and leave to macerate for a few days.

-Depending on the degree of alcohol and the type of alcohol (agricultural or industrial), you will add sugar or not according to your taste.

Rum&Sense created in 2014 is a brand of rums dedicated to women.
